Barbara Kallir
Barbara is a director member of Rogue Machine Theatre, and directed last season’s production of Half of Plenty by Lisa Dillman (LA Weekly: GO). She recently directed the Los Angeles Premiere of Naomi Wallace’s Slaughter City for Son of Semele Ensemble, and her production of Sarah Ruhl’s Melancholy Play at the same theatre was also a critical and audience success. Last year she directed a workshop production of Murray Mednick’s latest play, Charles’ Story for the Pacific Resident Theatre Co-Op. Other theatre credits: The Tower by Matthew Maguire (SOSE– 5 NAACP theatre nominations), Alan Bennett’s Kafka’s Dick (PRT Co-Op) A Thurber Carnival (Pasadena Shakespeare Company) No Exit (Space Theatre) Our Friend Sam (Theatre of NOTE) and 365 Days / 365 Plays, Week 21 (Son of Semele). Barbara is a graduate of The American Film Institute and an alumnus of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, West.
